Will Write for Chocolate?  Fun illustrations?  Writing challenges?  This is a site that will please all writers.

Debbie Ridpath Ohi is an incredibly talented and creative person.  We've been featuring her comics in Vision for a few years now.  Her wonderful sense of humor (and obvious understanding of the world of writers) makes her humor incisive.  However, there is far more to her than just comics!

The Inkygirl website is filled with great information for writers, and while it may be focused on material about books written and illustrated for children and young adults, that doesn't mean there isn't helpful hints for other writers as well.

Among the items to look at are the surveys, interviews and the writing challenge that has sections for 250, 500 or 1000 words a day.

The site is also an excellent example of how to promote your own work while offering interesting pages to draw people back.  Not only is there help for writers (check out the Most Popular Posts, which at the moment has some good Twitter information), but also with her Interviews is helping readers connect with other works.

Be sure to check out the archive listings, too.

One of the best things about this site is the upbeat nature of the presentation.   This is a site that makes writing and illustrating look like fun, rather than authors with lists of things that you must do to be a true writer.  Debbie Ridpath Ohi approaches creativity with a sense of joy that is clearly shown in her pages and posts.  If you want a bit of a pick-me-up when you're feeling down about writing, stop here.  Check out her comics.  Laugh at the foibles of writers and then get back to your own work again.
